The “In-House" Designer or Kate Kelly Interiors?

Within the industry, there are larger-scale home builders, contractors, and architects who have moved towards an “all-under-one-roof” business model. A feature of this model offers an interior designer as a part of the “in-house” team. Although these particular companies offer umbrella services, accepting the services themselves are rarely required to work with that company. While an “in-house” team may be available, it is important to consider that you have the option exercise choice and hand-select members of your own team.

When a client organically identifies, interviews, and ultimately would like to move forward with a particular designer independent of the builder or architect’s “in-house” team, it positions the client to have a level of advocacy, creativity, and accountability that they might not otherwise experience while working with a staff interior designer.

At Kate Kelly Interiors, we are master collaborators. As your intentionally chosen, independent interior designer, our duty is to you, the client, first.

We stand by you, guide, and advocate for your wants and needs every step of the way. Within the client-designer relationship, we figure out the possibilities, then constructively approach and work alongside the builder or architectural team in order to advance your particular vision.

When starting your next project, remember that some of the best results are achieved by otherwise separate specialist teams who are brought together for a particular purpose. You have a powerful voice, and a right to choose; don’t hesitate to share your preferences, thoughts, and honest opinions with your build and design teams; it’s the only way to ensure your complete satisfaction.

Best,

Kate
